Many government and community-based organisations require candidates to address key selection criteria as part of the application process. Selection Criteria are generally addressed separate to your Resume and Cover Letter.

For each criterion specified, it is vital that you provide specific examples that demonstrate your ability to meet that particular competency using the STAR model: Situation, Task, Action and Result. Our Selection Criteria Writers will work closely with you to obtain useful, solid stories and examples from your work history. They will then create high level responses that incorporate the STAR method to present your examples in a structured and logical manner.

Some organisations may alternatively ask you for a ‘pitch’ or short statement of your claims for the job. Your pitch is an opportunity to tell the organisation why you are the right candidate for the job.
